Expand your professional horizons. You can increase your chances on the Swiss job market by doing an apprenticeship, further training or an internship.
Obtain information from the office responsible for integration support or social assistance. You can also visit the local careers information centre.
Apprenticeship: The apprenticeship (PDF, 163 kB, 28.02.2023) is a dual-track vocational training system, half of which takes place working for an employer and half at a vocational school. It provides a solid foundation for entering the world of work.

Bridging programmes: Bridging programmes are for people who have not yet found an apprenticeship after completing compulsory schooling. The aim is to prepare students for their career choice. The programmes last six to twelve months.

INVOL+: This programme is aimed at teenagers and young adults. In 20 cantons, it is possible to take part in an INVOL programme to prepare for an apprenticeship in a targeted and practical way.

Internship: This is a fixed-term employment contract with the aim of providing training and work experience. A work permit must be obtained from the cantonal authorities at the place of work before the employee starts work.
